About the Enthuse project

The aim of the project is to provide information to Local Governments to enable them to be more effective in implementing and encouraging renewable energy schemes in their local area. In the participating countries, there is generally awareness amongst Local Governments that these technologies exist, but many would value further information on how to apply them. The project aims to give easy access to all the necessary information, and thus aid Local Governments to contribute to European and national targets for the use of renewable energies. The information will be disseminated through presentations at Local Government forums and through this website.

The 2 year Enthuse project began on February 1st 2002.

About the presentations

The main focus of the project is a series of presentations at appropriate Local Government forums in each of the five participating countries. As well as providing ideas and examples of how Local Governments can encourage renewable energy developments there are also workshops and opportunities for networking and exchange of information. A format has been produced which includes the Renewable Energy Matrix, an interactive tool which helps attendees to identify the way forward for their Local Government. Following the presentations it is expected that attendees will have a good basic knowledge of renewable energy, and access to sources of further information to take this forward.
